With the combination of Mengtian experimental module and Long March 5 B remote four carrier rocket transported to the launch area, it means that after two years, the construction of China Space Station has entered the final stage. So, what are the different feelings of the astronauts walking on the transshipment road this time?
At 7 o’clock in the morning, the door of the assembly plant slowly opened and the rocket was ready to start transshipment. Every time the rocket is transshipped, the staff participating in the research and test will follow it and escort it through the last journey on the earth.
CCTV reporter Wu Tianbai:We can see that the Long March 5 B carrier rocket has come out of the final assembly test building. Today, it will take the Mengtian experimental module along this 2.8-kilometer rail and transfer it to the launch tower by vertical transfer. Because it is the launch mission of China’s space station construction entering the final stage, there are many astronauts who come to send dreams today.
Wang Gan, deputy chief designer of the Long March 5 B carrier rocket of the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group:This is my second shooting range mission. Last time I participated in the launching mission of the Quest Experiment Module, this rocket was the last mission of the space station. After the Mengtian Experiment Module docked with the space station, the final construction of the space station was completed and it gradually entered the operation stage. We are also filled with awe and dedication to this job, and we are very excited to see the transition of Yaosi Rocket.
Meng Yao, deputy chief designer of Mengtian experimental cabin of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Eighth Institute Space Station:It has been more than ten years since the demonstration of Mengtian experimental module, and we are watching it gradually change from design idea to launching module. Now we have the conditions for launching. After the rotation field, we mainly complete the test work in the tower stage, and make our own contribution to ensuring the completion of the space station in orbit.
There are astronauts who have been here many times, and there are young people who have embarked on this transshipment road for the first time. Nowadays, this transshipment road not only carries the feelings of astronauts for rockets and spacecraft, but also is the endless life of China’s space flight with the continuous participation of young people.
Wu Kai, mechanical chief designer of Mengtian experimental cabin of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Eighth Institute Space Station:This is my first time to participate in the overall transshipment of cabin arrows, and the Mengtian model is also the first developed model since I joined the work. Along the way, I deeply realized the manned space spirit of our predecessors, which is "especially hard-working, especially tackling key problems, especially dedication, especially fighting", which benefited me a lot. I believe that what awaits us must be a complete success.
Lin Min, chief designer of the measurement system of the Long March 5 B carrier rocket of the First Academy of Aerospace Science and Technology Group:I found more and more new faces around me on this transshipment road. I have been working in this type of team for nearly 20 years, and I feel that their faces are filled with the feeling of excitement just like when I first joined the company. I am sincerely gratified and feel that we astronauts are passing on the aerospace spirit from generation to generation.
After more than two hours of transshipment, the Long March 5 B remote four rocket took the Mengtian experimental module into the arms of the launch tower. As the astronauts said, this transshipment road is just like the development road of China’s space flight. After departure, we must move forward firmly step by step until we reach our destination.
Next, the combination of Mengtian experimental module and Long March 5 B remote four launch vehicle will complete the final stage of preparation in the launch tower, and it is planned to launch in the near future.
