Since its founding in 1951, China Academy of Art has been a national comprehensive academic institution integrating artistic research, artistic education, artistic creation, intangible cultural heritage protection and cultural think tanks for more than 70 years. It is the first batch of doctoral and master’s degree awarding units in the State Council, the first first first-class discipline awarding unit in China approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, and also the unit approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Office to apply for master’s degree with the same academic strength. The Chinese Academy of Art’s freehand brushwork painting academy, established in December 2021, is the first national professional academic platform for theoretical research, artistic creation and cultural construction of freehand brushwork.

Teaching objectives
Through systematic training, we will implement the "five hopes" put forward by the Supreme Leader General Secretary for literary and art workers in the new era and promote the innovation and development of China’s excellent traditional culture; Train students to fully explore the artistic noumenon value of China’s intentional flower-and-bird paintings, explore the direction of protection and inheritance, temper creative expression techniques, improve the theoretical knowledge structure and enhance the aesthetic spiritual realm, so as to "show the new atmosphere of China literature and art and create new glory of Chinese culture".
Course arrangement
1. Public theory course
The lectures are arranged by the freehand brushwork painting academy in a unified way, and famous artists, theorists and scholars are invited to give lectures, including philosophy, aesthetics, ancient poetry, literary criticism, Chinese and foreign art history, calligraphy history, seal cutting history and so on, and the public theory courses of the Graduate School of China Academy of Art are shared.

Examination and admission
(1) The Admissions Office conducts a preliminary examination of the application materials, and each studio tutor selects the best candidates according to the materials provided by the candidates.
(2) Admission time: August 2023. The admission notice will be issued in electronic form.
(3) According to the relevant regulations, students who fail to complete their studies or drop out of school due to personal reasons will not go through the formalities of suspension from school and will not refund their tuition fees. You are not allowed to change classes after entering school. Take care of yourself during your study.
(4) If the submitted materials are untrue, our college has the right to cancel the admission qualification.
