At 14: 30 on October 7, a pavement collapse occurred at No.103 Donghuan South Road, Dachuan District, Dazhou City, covering an area of about 10 square meters, and four people were trapped. After the disaster, Dazhou City and Dachuan District quickly set up emergency rescue headquarters, which set up seven groups including on-site rescue, emergency stability, medical rescue, after-care disposal, accident investigation and logistics support to co-ordinate the entire rescue work.
Due to the dense houses around the road surface collapse point and the complex underground environment, the deepest collapse depth is 15.6 meters. At 9:36 on October 8, rescuers found another trapped person in the operation area, and died after being rescued. It is understood that the two deceased were a newly married couple. During the rescue process, more than 400 people from more than 20 rescue teams, including Dazhou Safety Production Emergency Rescue Detachment, Sichuan Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau Coal Mine Emergency Drainage Station and Sichuan Academy of Building Science, invested more than 100 sets of machinery and equipment to participate in the rescue.
At present, the joint expert group of Sichuan Province and Dazhou City is further analyzing and verifying the causes of this disaster by consulting relevant historical materials and field surveys. Dachuan District has carried out relevant work in an all-round and orderly manner according to the hidden danger investigation and disaster management plan proposed by the expert group.
